Castle Hayne is located in New Hanover County, North Carolina, approximately ten miles north of Wilmington. The town was named for an 18th century plantation built by Captain Roger Haynes around 1731 that was dubbed “Castle Haynes” by the locals. Today, Castle Hayne is home to a population of approximately 1,200 residents who enjoy the moderate seasonal climate that graces the region with hot summers, mild winters, and lovely weather during spring and fall.
Castle Hayne’s proximity to the Northeast Cape Fear River affords plenty of opportunity for outdoor sports and recreation. Fishing, boating, hiking, and biking on the numerous waterways and trails that populate the area are popular pursuits with residents and visitors alike.
St. Stan’s Polish Festival has been a Castle Hayne tradition for the past fifteen years! Held on the grounds of Stanislaus Catholic Church, the festival features music, dancing, arts and crafts, children’s games, and, of course, polish sausages!
